Using different tools and specific products to reduce and eliminate the smoke odor

Smoke odor is a very difficult odor to remove from the interior because the smell is literally everywhere. The nicotine and the tobacco can be all inside the interior get trap in the seats, cloth, seatbelts and everywhere interior wise.

Depending how much odor we can be able to remove are in two questions: how long the vehicle has been smoked in and how long it’s been sitting there.

If the smoke odor has been there longer and smoke intensively, then it will take a more intense process to reduce the odor. If the vehicle was smoked in pretty heavily, then the chances of getting rid of the odor will not lower due to the severe condition of years of smoking that happen in the car.

There will be points where it’s just better to replace the fabric materials like carpets, headliners and floor mats. With many years of build of smoke will cost more to clean than to just replace the materials in the vehicle.

Smoke Odor Removal Process

1. Thoroughly Vacuumed

All interior surfaces will be vacuumed like in between the seats, carpets, floor mats and even the headliner to remove build up

4. Clean The Windows & Mirrors

Build up will happen overtime to the windows so every interior window and mirror will be cleaned to remove residue and create a clear view

2. Scrubbing Plastics & Leather

Using a smoke degreaser to clean the plastic, leather and rubber surfaces will be cleaned to remove the build of tobacco

3. Shampooing Fabric Surfaces

With specific tools like our hot water extractor and our tobacco specific cleaner we will shampoo the carpet, floor mats, seat belts and if we can the headliner

5. Drying Interior

Before we move on the last step, we need to ensure that the interior is 100% dry. If not dried properly then it can effect the final step. We will place fans to make sure the interior is dry.

6. Ozone Treatment

With our ozone machine, we are able to leave it on for 2 to 5 hours to remove as much odor as possible. Depending on condition it may need to be repeated.

Replacing Your Air Filter

In order for this process to go smoothly, it is necessary to replace your cabin air filter with a new one. Keeping the old in will not help because the moment you turn on your A/C it will release all the trapped smoke odor that was left in the filter and will blow all over your interior and we will start again.

The longest part is not cleaning but majority of the time it is the ozone treatment to finish and the many times we need to repeat the process to remove the odor.
